Training Builds Preparedness, Safeguarding the Way | Fujian Yoana Umbrella Industry Successfully Conducts Large-Scale Fire Emergency Drill!

Safety is the foundation of a company’s development, and safeguarding the lives of every employee is Yoana’s Umbrella Industry’s unwavering responsibility and commitment. On July 21, Yoana Umbrella Industry, in collaboration with the Dongshi Town Party Committee, the Jinjiang Umbrella Industry Chain Party Committee, and the E-commerce Industry Party Committee, jointly organized a large-scale fire emergency drill involving government and business sectors. Safety officers from more than 200 enterprises in the jurisdiction, representatives of Party members from the industry, and all employees of the company participated throughout the event, observing and taking part in the practical exercises, and collectively undergoing a comprehensive fire safety training experience that spanned from theory to real-world application.

1、Reinforcing Responsibilities and Sounding the Call to Action for Drills

At 9:00 a.m., the fire safety mobilization meeting was held as scheduled. During the meeting, the responsibilities of the emergency response, evacuation and security, and communications teams were announced; evacuation routes, security zones, and dedicated access routes for fire trucks were designated; and all employees were required to cooperate fully.

2、Prioritize Theory to Build a Solid Foundation of Knowledge

At 4:00 p.m., Zhang Qiang, an instructor from Quanzhou Zi’an Emergency Services Co., Ltd., conducted a special fire safety training session for office management staff.

The training began with real-life case studies of major factory fires that have occurred in recent years. The instructor dissected the causes of each fire one by one, focusing on common issues such as the haphazard piling of flammable materials, lack of electrical wiring maintenance, and lax safety management. By highlighting the painful lessons from these accidents, the session served as a stark safety warning, helping the attending managers deeply understand that there is no room for complacency when it comes to fire safety.

The instructor systematically delivered comprehensive fire safety instruction, providing detailed explanations of core topics such as standards for daily fire hazard inspections on factory premises, self-rescue and evacuation procedures in smoke-filled environments, and personnel evacuation protocols. The session also included hands-on training with emergency equipment: first, the types of fires suitable for different sizes of fire extinguishers, along with operating procedures and key practical points; second, the correct way to wear a gas mask, when to use it, how to replace it, and emergency precautions; and third, the proper use of safety ropes, key points for rappelling from heights, and emergency escape techniques. By integrating these topics with real-world risk scenarios specific to the company’s workshops, the training ensured that participating managers thoroughly understood the theory and mastered the practical skills, thereby strengthening their ability to respond to fire safety emergencies.

3、 Real-Life, Hands-On Training: Simulating Actual Fire Scenarios

At 5:30 p.m., the live-action drill officially began. Smoke was released simultaneously in multiple hallways throughout the factory premises to simulate a sudden fire in the workshop. After the alarm sounded, all employees crouched down, covered their noses, and evacuated in an orderly manner by floor to assemble in the plaza, where safety officers immediately took roll call. Professional fire trucks simultaneously entered the factory grounds to clear a rescue access routes, and our company’s emergency response team worked with rescue personnel to lay out fire hoses and spray water into the windows of the burning floor to disperse the smoke, fully simulating the entire process of a multi-agency coordinated rescue operation.

4、 Hands-On Fire Extinguishing: Promoting Firefighting Skills

After the evacuation and assembly were completed, simulated fire points were set up in the square and equipped with an adequate number of fire extinguishers. The instructor demonstrated the standard fire extinguishing procedure on-site, while staff simultaneously explained the key points of the operation, providing those present with a clear demonstration of the correct way to handle a fire in its early stages.

4、 Review and Summary: Establishing a Long-Term Mechanism

At the conclusion of the drill, host Bian Qiangji  conducted a debriefing of the entire event, identifying specific shortcomings in the evacuation and coordinated rescue procedures, and clarifying the requirements for daily fire prevention measures and self-inspections to identify and rectify potential hazards in the workshop.
