On August 4, the 2026 “Yoana Cup” Jinjiang Cross-Strait College Student Design Competition successfully concluded. As a distinctive brand event for young people across the Strait that Yoana Umbrella has meticulously organized for 13 consecutive years, this year’s competition centered on four core creative themes: zero-carbon circularity, all-around outdoor functionality, the cultural charm of Fujian, and cross-sector symbiosis. It brought together design students from major universities on both sides of the Strait, using design as a bridge, industry as a foundation, and culture as its core to build a high-quality platform for cross-strait youth collaboration and exchange, as well as for the deep integration of industry, academia, and research. The event continues to infuse the traditional umbrella industry with vibrant youthful energy to drive innovation and upgrading.
Throughout the competition, various elements—including industry-focused study tours, inter-school exchanges, proposal refinement, and a final professional review—were seamlessly integrated. The event featured a lively atmosphere and yielded a wealth of creative outcomes, resulting in a large number of outstanding design works that combine aesthetic appeal, cultural depth, and practical applicability. Ultimately, following the judges’ evaluation in accordance with the competition rules, the winners of the major awards are as follows:
